What exactly is it?
It’s basically an advanced form of cataract surgery or refractive lens exchange.
Your natural lens is removed and replaced with a trifocal IOL, which splits incoming light into three focus points:
Near → reading, phone
Intermediate → computer, dashboard
Far → driving, TV
Why do people choose trifocal lenses?
Main reason: reduce or eliminate glasses
They are especially popular for:
Patients with presbyopia (age-related near vision loss)
People who want full-range vision after cataract surgery
Advantages
Clear vision at all distances
High independence from glasses
Modern lifestyle-friendly (phone + computer + driving)
Possible downsides (important)
This is where expectations matter:
Halos and glare at night (especially early months)
Slightly reduced contrast in low light
Not ideal for every eye (e.g. certain cornea or retina issues)
So it’s not “perfect for everyone,” even though it’s premium.
How the surgery works (simple)
Local anesthesia (drops, no pain)
Remove natural lens
Insert trifocal lens
Procedure takes ~10–15 minutes per eye
Recovery is usually fast—most people see well within a few days.
